The Breakdown, Schedule and Budget for every project on your slate.

Prescene reads each script and drafts the Breakdown, Schedule and Budget in minutes. When new pages come in, everything updates, and once a project is in production each department gets only what changed for them. Studios and networks buy Prescene by contract.

On every project

Each film and series has one project page, from the first estimate to wrap.

The Breakdown, Schedule and Budget sit on the project page with every draft of the script and what changed in each. Your teams check them, change anything and export them to the tools they already use.

Breakdown

Every scene’s cast, sets, locations and elements, by department, as a table or on the script pages.

Schedule

The shoot days from the answers your team gives, with the stripboard, calendar and day out of days.

Budget

The top sheet and every account’s lines, with where each rate comes from, and your own rate cards and deals.

How it works

How a studio starts

We set up the contract around your slate and the people who will use Prescene.

  1. 01

    Tell us about the slate

How many films and episodes you prep in a year, and who estimates them.

  2. 02

Set the commitment and the seats

One yearly commitment for script reads and Production, and a seat for each person who estimates. Single sign-on and admin are set up with your team.

  3. 03

    Start with one project

Add its script, check the Breakdown, Schedule and Budget, and when it is greenlit, share it with its crew and send them their documents.

When the crew arrives

Each department gets only what changed for them.

Send gets each document to its crew. When new pages come in, the coordinator checks the changes and re-sends them: each person gets only their department’s changes, with the lines from the script.

  • Production draws from the yearly commitment, per film or per episode.
  • The crew needs no seats, and people outside your company need no account.
  • Past the commitment, work continues at the same rates, up to a ceiling an admin sets.
  • Exports for Movie Magic Scheduling, Movie Magic Budgeting, Excel and PDF.
