Production

The Breakdown, Schedule, Budget and Shot list, and sending them to the crew.

The Breakdown

Every scene with its set, location, day or night, pages and cast, and its elements by department: extras, stunts, vehicles, props, wardrobe, makeup and hair, set dressing, effects, sound and music. See it as a table, or on the script pages with each item in its department’s color. What Prescene is not sure of is listed at the top for you to check.

The Schedule

The Schedule is made from the Breakdown and four answers you can change any time: the kind of production, the length of a day, the days a week and the start date. It shows how many shoot days that comes to, then the stripboard, the calendar and the day out of days. Move strips by hand; Re-generate keeps every strip you moved and every time you typed.

The Budget

The Budget is made from the Schedule and the Breakdown: the shoot days, and the cast and elements in each scene, priced from union and crew rates. Each line says where its rate comes from, and the lines Prescene estimated are marked so you know which to check. Drop in your own rate card, deal memo or past budget and Prescene uses your numbers. Re-generate keeps every rate, deal and number anyone typed.

The Shot list

Prescene drafts a Shot list scene by scene for the director and cinematographer to change.

Exporting and sending

The Breakdown exports a file to import in Movie Magic Scheduling, and the Budget exports its accounts to paste into Movie Magic Budgeting. Everything also exports as PDF and Excel, and tables as CSV.

Press Send on the Schedule, the Budget or a department’s Breakdown, and choose the departments or people. Prescene keeps a copy of what each person got. When a new draft changes it, the document shows the changes since you sent it, and Re-send emails them what changed.
